Five police stations to record interrogations
Police will be able to interrogate suspects at the Paola, Mtarfa, Zejtun, Mosta and Victoria police stations
Five police stations – in Paola, Mtarfa, Zejtun, Mosta and Victoria - will be equipped with the necessary apparatus to record interrogations before the end of the year.
This was revealed by home affairs minister Carmelo Abela in response to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP Jason Azzopardi. The minister added that a list of further police stations that will be equipped with such audiovisual apparaturs will be identified in the future.
As it stands, all police interrogations take place in the police force’s Floriana headquarters where the recording equipment is installed.
