An awards ceremony is being organised for African migrants who have contributed to Maltese society or accomplished significant achievements.

The African4U Award Ceremony, which will be held on 3 February 2017 at the Valletta offices of Malta Microfinance Ltd, will be hosted by the African Media Association Malta.

The Africa4U Awards are the brainchild of Tony Tokunbo Fernandez, a Nigerian poet and novelist who lives in London who has already organised similar award ceremonies in the UK, USA, Germany and the Netherlands. He will fly down to Malta for the award ceremony and to give a motivational lecture.

“I am passionate about promoting African communities in the Diaspora and African communities around the world and have spent the last five years doing this,” Fernandez said. “Africa4U promotes the true life stories and the success stories of Africans and people of colour in the Diaspora and around the world.”

People interested in nominating African migrants for an award can send an e-mail to [email protected]  with a copy to [email protected], stating the name of the nominee, ID number, country of origin, why they deserve the award (up to 300 words) and the contact details of both nominee and proposer.
