[WATCH] Konrad Mizzi: ‘I have no relation with Pilatus Bank’
Konrad Mizzi had in 2015 been filmed leaving Ta' Xbiex offices and entering his ministerial car that had its government number plates removed
Minister Konrad Mizzi has flat out denied ever having had any relation with Pilatus Bank or ever visiting its Ta’ Xbiex offices.
Mizzi was in 2015 filmed by NET News leaving Whitehall Mansions, where Pilatus Bank is headquartered. He was reportedly driven to the building in his official ministerial car, but without its government number plates on.
Questioned by MaltaToday, Mizzi insisted that his meeting that day was with Shanghai Electric, the Chinese state-owned company that now owns the BWSC power station and whose offices are also at Whitehall Mansions.
“I have no relation with Pilatus Bank, I never met up with them, and I never visited their offices,” he said.
He didn’t answer when asked why he had attended that meeting without his government number plates on.
Mizzi was speaking to the press after inaugurating a new water awareness conservation centre in Mtahleb.
The press event was notably on edge, marred by a number of incidents as journalists attempted to question Konrad Mizzi. A Times of Malta journalist was shoved as the minister had entered his car, and a Net News journalist was shoved by One News’ crew.
