Ideally, Malta would be far away from this mess, but it cannot be when Libya is at its front door. If other countries were near, the least they would do is exactly what Malta is doing. One has to take into account that being 'neutral' means being hated by everyone. The neutrality clause made sense during the cold war. not now. That is my opinion.

ray there are so many countries in the un that are not involved at all..there is nothing in the un resolution that any country has to do anything..the un resolution was passed to sanction the french, uk and us attacks..later italy joined all the other countries of the un (i forgot some qatar) are nowhere to be seen!!!! lol The problem with france and italy is that they are preparing for the chance that in the malta territorial waters there will be a good amount of black demon!!!! Looks like somebody made a deal to supply fuel and make some money from the sad situation in Libya. After all we have to remember the deficits at enemalta. Between the Government's silence and greed for foreign funds and the Opposition's couldn't care less attitude, Malta's membership in the EU has awarded it the right to become a French Military base in the Meditteranean. Has anybody mentioned Malta's neutrality and it's constitution lately or is this administration in such financial straits that proclaiming prostitution is not on Malta's agenda was only an off the cuff remark. One wonders what the Gonzi administration is charging for the fuel when compared to what it charges it's working class citizens since the bureaucrats have theirs paid for by the government.
