Gaddafi condemns military action against Libyan people
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi says air raids amount to terrorism and vows to “equip people against aggressors,” in a first speech since the overnight air strikes on government forces.
In what has been described as another defiant message by Gaddafi, he said in an address televised on Libyan state TV that foreigners have no right to interfere in the north African nation's internal affairs.
Al Jazzera reports Gaddafi saying government forces on the ground will be victorious: "We will defend our land from foreign enemies bent on exploitation".
He said the US, British and French air raids amount to terrorism on Libyan soil.
Claiming that the Libyan "people are behind him and ready for all-out war", Gaddafi said: "We have opened arms depots to equip people against aggressors."
