Shots fired on N/S Korean border

North Korea fired gunshots across its heavily armed border towards rival South Korea on Friday, a defence ministry official in Seoul said. 

Local media said the shots were fired towards a frontline unit in Hwacheon in the eastern province of Gangwon.
