Sky News witnesses Gaddafi attacks in Misurata

Rocket attacks by Col Muammar Gaddafi’s forces are still killing dozens in Misurata despite claims the army had withdrawn from the city, Sky News reports.

Sky News special correspondent Alex Crawford said rebels claim it is no longer “a rebellion, but a battle for survival.” Crawford herself is in Misurata, witnessing live the attacks.

As the battle in Misurata rages on, rebel fighters are thought to have 80% control of the besieged city. Additional reports say shelling in residential areas has killed at least 30 people and injured up to 60 in the latest attacks.

On Saturday, the Libyan government claimed Gaddafi troops will withdraw from Misurata and leave local tribes to handle the conflict with the rebels.
