Malta’s first raw cacao bar, Theobroma, opens on Saturday
Malta’s first raw cacao bar, Theobroma will be opening its doors on Saturday 6 February for their official launch from 15:00 to 18:00 at 123, Old Theatre Street, Valletta.
Chocolate fans with a penchant for healthy food will be delighted at the selection of decadent raw cacao desserts with a selection of sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free treats.
Theobroma was founded by Yasmin Degiorgio, founder of The Grassy Hopper in Gzira and Valletta, together with Emmeline Schembri, and is a natural step forward in the world of healthy eating. "Theobroma has inspired me so much and has really taken me back to the root of why I started the Grassy Hopper in the first place. That eating well and nourishing our bodies can be fun, tasty and inspirational,” Degiorgio explained.
Raw cacao has been touted one of the world’s top 10 superfoods, with more antioxidants than green tea and more Vitamin C than oranges, giving these raw desserts a healthy edge.
“After working on innovative recipes, we are excited to welcome the public for a little taste and a drink. They can learn more about what it is we do and why we do it. Learn about the ingredients we use and why they are so beneficial to our bodies. More than anything, come and discover why chocolate, for us, is a treat we can never do without!” Emmeline Schembri said.
A collection of raw chocolate desserts made from only the finest quality ingredients will be available during the event on Saturday.
