Klitschko silences loud mouth Haye to unify heavyweight titles
Wladimir Klitschko proved he is the best heavyweight boxer in the modern era yesterday evening.
Klitschko dominated the entire fight against David Haye with consistent jabs to win by points.
Haye could not fight any weak point in Klitschko and it was becoming more evident as the fight went on the it was moving in Klitschko’s favour.
Three judges scored the fight 117-109, 118-108 and 116-110, all in Klitschko’s favour.
With all the pre-fight build up and trash talk by David Haye, his 10,000 British fans that travelled to the Imtech Arena in Hamburg were disappointed on the outcome.
After the fight David Haye revealed that he had a broken toe on his right foot. The injury according to Haye did not let him use his hard right as he is used to.
Haye tried to lure Klitschko towards him so he can fight more comfortably but the giant Ukrainian was not that easy to fool.
With this victory Wladimir Klitschko now holds the WBO, IBF and the WBA belts while his brother Vitali is the WBC champion.
David Haye now has to decide if he wants to continue with his career in boxing. Haye has already revealed that he is going to walk away from the sport before his 31st birthday.
Win or lose, both of these fighters’ still hold impressive records. David Haye is now with 25 wins and two defeats, while Klitschko holds an impressive record of 56 wins and three defeats.
