Palermo defeat Milan to deny them domestic double

Palermo went through to the final by defeating Milan 2-1 (4-3 agg).

Palermo will now face either Inter or Roma depending on the result of the match this evening.

A goal from Giulio Migliaccio and a penalty from Cesare Bovo were enough the guarantee Palermo their place in the final. A consolation goal by Milan’s Ibrahimovic arrived in the 94^th  minute.

Milan went into the season with the goal of matching Inter’s Treble success of the previous year but now have to settle for the Serie A crown only as they have been eliminated from the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.

Milan have already made it a priority to win the Champions League next season as they have already signed Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo.

Club CEO Adriano Galliani has told the press that the Rossoneri’s recruitment drive is only just starting to gain momentum.
