Hibernians brush aside Balzan Youths

Hibernians came back from a goal down to defeat Balzan Youths 3-1 yesterday afternoon.

Balzan started as the dominant side and managed to take the lead on the 17th minute. Off a Pedro Calcado freekick, Yessous Camilleri headed the ball in to give Balzan Youths the lead.

On the 36th minute, Hibernians levelled the score when Edison Luis Dos Santos’s powerful shot beat Balzan Youths goalkeeper Fredrick Tabone to make the score 1-1.

On the 64th minute, Hibernians scored to take the lead. Off a freekick from Andrew Cohen, the Balzan players partially cleared the ball to have Clayton Faila easily beat goalkeeper Fredrick Tabone with his shot.

Balzan Youths were reduced to ten men when Jonathan Francica received his second yellow card of the match when he fouled a player just outside the area.

As Hibernians were awarded a freekick for the foul, Andrew Cohen made the score 3-1 when he beat the Balzan Youths goalkeeper with his perfect shot.

Adrian Pulis was voted the BOV Player of the Match.
