Michael Mifsud leads Malta to victory
Michael Mifsud was in fantastic form as he scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over Liechtenstein in a friendly match at the National Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Malta started on the attack and had their first chance on goal on the 13th minute. Mifsud dribbled past the Liechtenstein defenders to have his powerful shot saved by goalkeeper Peter Jehle.
Both teams had their chances in front of goal, but the first have ended goalless.
Liechtenstein managed to take the lead just three minutes into the second half when Martin Buchel managed to beat Malta's goalkeeper Justin Haber with his shot after he received a perfect assist from Burchmeier.
Just seven minutes later, Malta managed to score the equaliser. A pass by Luke Dimech towards Michael Mifsud enabled the latter to have his powerful shot beat the Liechtenstein goalkeeper to make it 1-1.
On the 64th minute, Malta would take the lead after another great goal by Mifsud. Off a bad clearance from the visiting side, Andre Schembri served Mifsud with a precise cross to have the latter find the back of the net with his shot.
