Premier League called off as National Stadium damaged by gale force winds

Large chunks of steel have been blown-off the top parts of the Ta' Qali National Staidium and Centinary Stadium enclosures, leading the Malta Football Association to call off all scheduled Premier and Third Division games.

Workers have been called in to clear the debris from inside and around the stadia, while repair works have also been commissioned.

The MFA will decide on Sunday morning regarding the scheduled football programme, saying that the decision will depend on the weather during the next 24 hours.
