Malta defeat Luxembourg in style
Malta’s new coach Pietro Ghedin started off is second adventure as Malta coach with a 2-0 victory over Luxembourg in a friendly match yesterday evening at the Stade Josy Barthel.
The Malta national team put on a great display with a dominant style of football taking control of the match from the start.
Malta managed to take the lead on the 10th minute. Daniel Bogdanovic served Michael Mifsud who made no mistake by beating goalkeeper Jonathan Joubert with his shot.
The hosts tried to get back into the match, but the Maltese players did a fine job to keep them out of their net.
Luxembourg were reduced to ten men seconds before the end of the first half when captain Mario Mutsch received his second yellow card of the match.
Malta made it 2-0 on the 80th minute. It was Daniel Bogdanovic again with the assist as his cross found Michael Mifsud who then dribbled past the goalkeeper and a defender to easily place the ball at the back of the net.
