Following their owner's conviction for tax fraud, AC Milan could be evicted from the San Siro stadium which has been their home since 1926.

Reports in the Italian media say that Berlusconi's four-year conviction is in breach of the stadium management's code of ethics and as a result AC Milan could end up playing their home games in the new 2015 Expo site.

The club's fate now rests with the city's mayor, Giuliano Pisapia who was elected on behalf of the centre-left, Berlusconi's political foes.

The stadium is managed by Milan's municipality and the mayor can yet find a compromise and allow the seven-time European champions to continue playing their home games at the San Siro.

Last year, the Italian Senate expelled Berlusconi from parliament over his four-year conviction for tax fraud over deals his firm Mediaset made to purchase TV rights to US films.
