Ten-man Sliema defeat Vittoriosa as Qormi get back to winning ways

Sliema Wanderers 1 – 0 Vittoriosa
Sliema Wanderers defeated Vittoriosa to move second level on points with Bikirkara.
Both teams had numerous chances on goal. Sliema went one man down when on the 59thminute Beppe Muscat received his second yellow card of the game for a foul.
Sliema managed to get the only goal of the game on the 69thminute when off a pass by John Mintoff, Obinna Obiefule beat goalkeeper Simon Agius.
It was Vittoriosa’s fourth defeat in as many games.

Qormi 2 – 1 Tarxien Rainbows
Qormi had to comeback from behind the defeat Tarsien Rainbows 2-1. The win put Qormi in fourth place in the standings alongside Marsaxlokk, Hamrun and Floriana.
Tarxien went in front on the 18thminute when Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues dribbled the ball past Qormi’s goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.
Qormi pressed till the end of the first half, but the score line remained 1-0 in Tarxien’s favour.
On the 65thminute, from a corner by Joseph Farrugia, Cleavon Frendo made it 1-1 after his powerful shot beat goalkeeper David Cassar.
Qormi pressed for the winning goal and it arrived on the 74thminute when off a cross from Matthyew Bartolo, Abubakar Bello-Osagie’s effort left the Tarxien goalkeeper no chance.
