Tarxien Rainbows shock Sliema Wanderers

10 minutes into the match Tarxien went ahead Ricardo Costa received a perfect cross from Daniel Mariano Bueno to beat goalkeeper Szentpeteri.

Sliema had a chance to equalise four minutes later when Obinna Obiefule headed wide.

Sliema kept pressing and they were rewarded with the equaliser when on the the 40^thminute Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza deflected the ball for the goal off a freekick by Jackson Lima.

In the second half Tarxien regained the lead and the match winner on the 51^stminute. Daniel Mariano Bueno’s shot was blocked by Sliema’s Beppe Muscat. The ball reached Tarxien’s Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira. Daniel Mariano Bueno received the ball from De Oliveira to put the ball at the back of the net.

Sliema had a great chance to equalise in the final five minutes of the match. Valdo Alhinho’s powerful shot hit the crossbar. And one minute from time , Mifsud Triganza also hit the crossbar to deny Sliema the equaliser.
