Arsenal in shock defeat as Roma and Chelsea leave it late
Braga’s Matheus gave Arsenal a shock defeat and denied them the chance to book their place in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
Even though the Gunners had 70% of the possession, they only managed one shot on target.
Two late goals on the 83rd and 90th minute sunk Arsenal. It seems Arsenal did not get over the defeat against Tottenham over the weekend when they came back from two goals down to defeat Arsenal 3-2.
In other matches Spartak Mosco were defeated by Marseille 3-0 in the early match.
Roma came back from two goals down against Bayern Munich to win 3-2. Two goals were scored by Gomez for Bayern on the 32nd and 39th minute. Roma then came back with goals by Borriello and De Rossi on the 49th and 81st minute. Totti got the winner thanks to a penalty shot on the 83rd minute.
FC Basel defeated CFR Cluj-Napoca 1-0. The only goal of the match was by Almerares on the 15th minute.
Cheslea had to work hard to defeat MSK Zilina 2-1. Zilina took a shock lead on the 19th minute. Chelsea had to wait till the second half to get the equalizer when Daniel Sturridge found the back of the net on the 51st minute. Malouda sealed the match for Chelsea on the 86th minute.
Milan defeated AJ Auxerre 2-0. Some fantastic goalkeeping from Milan saved them as AJ Auxerre pushed Milan in the first half with some great chances. Milan had to wait till the second half to get goals from Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho on the 63rd and 90th minute.
Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid ran wild to walk over Ajax 4-0. Goals from Benzema on the 36th minute, Arbeloa on the 44th minute and two from Ronaldo sealed the affair on the 87th and on the 90th minute courtesy of a penalty shot.
Finally Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Partizan Belgrade 3-0. Stepanenko opened the score on the 51st minute. Jedson found the back of the net only eight minutes later and Eduardo sealed the match with a goal on the 67th minute.
