Inter no match for Lazio
Lazio are now level on points with Milan after defeating champions Inter 3-1 last night in Rome. With this defeat Inter coach Benitez will have much unwanted pressure to win the Club World Cup.
Lazio went in front on the 26th minute with a goal from Giuseppe Biava. It was an unlucky goal as a clearance from the goalline by Cambiasso hit the chest of Biava to find its way back in the net.
Mauro Zarate doubled the score on the 53rd minute. Receiving a great cross from Hernanes, Maro Zarate made no mistake in making it 2-1 after some bad defending from the young Inter defender Felice Natalino.
Pandev put Inter back in the game on the 74th minute after he had a shot on goal that was denied by the Lazio defence, but his second attempt was successful.
Inter started to put on the pressure to score the equaliser. Ivan Cordoba almost got them level but Muslera made a fantastic save.
The match was put to bed after a fantastic freekick from Hernanes on the 89th minute.
After this win, Lazio can surely say they are title contenders, as they had no problem beating the European and Italian champions convincingly.
