Floriana and Hibernians share the spoils
Hibernians had to fight to earn a point yesterday against Floriana.
Hibernians remain second from bottom and Floriana lose some ground on Tarxien and Valletta as they move down to third in the standings.
Floriana had the upper hand at the start as they had an attempt on goal on the 14th minute mark. Michael Mecerod shot was saved by Hibs goalkeeper Mario Muscat.
But the pressure paid off when on the 17th minute Luke Agius made no mistake in finding the back of the net thanks to a assist from Michael Mecerod.
Hibernians pressed for the equaliser and it paid off on the 26th minute when off a freekick, Matt Clarke headed the ball towards Jonathan Pearson whose shot beat Floriana goalkeeper Lofti Saidi.
After numerous attempts on goal from both teams were denied by some great goalkeeping, the match ended 1-1.
