Tarxien’s positive run continues

Tarxien remain in second place with 17 points. Four points behind Valletta who have a game in hand.

Marsaxlokk suffered their second defeat in a row with this result after losing to Qormi in their previous match. Marsaxlokk remain with 13 points along with Birkirkara and Hamrun who have a game in hand.

Marsaxlokk pressed for a goal early in the match and they were rewarded. On the ninth minute a great freekick by Martin Deanov left Tarxien’s goalkeeper David Cassar with no chance.

Seven minutes later, Tarxien leveled matters thanks to Manuel Caruana who headed the ball in past Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Reuben Gauci.

On the 24^th minute Tarxien went ahead. Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira found the back of the net with his shot after he managed to recover from the rebound of a shot by teammate Orosco Anonam.

On the 37^th minute Tarxien extended their lead by two goals when off a cross from Ricardo Costa, Cristiano Dos Santos made no mistake with his powerful shot.

Marsaxlokk got back in the game just before the first half ended. Ruben Guerreiro beat the Tarxien goalkeeper with a low shot after receiving cross from Alfred Effiong.

Tarxien put the match out reach on the 87^th  minute after Daniel Mariano Bueno made no mistake in front of the opponents goal.
