Hibernians and Floriana earn a point each

Hibs were close to open the score on the second minute when Juan Manuel Varea fired a low shot that was saved by Justin Haber.

Floriana hit back through Antonio Monticelli whose header ended up centimetres wide.

On the brink of half time, the Greens had another good opportunity to open the score. From a cross, Amadou Samb headed the ball goalwards, but his header went slightly over.

In the second half, Hogg had to be on the alert to neutralise another header from Samb.

Floriana pushed for an equaliser and were close once more through Mario Fontanella. Nicolas Chiesa sent a cross inside the penalty area that was met by his Italian team mate, whose header went wide.
