Inter close in on Milan after defeating Cesena
Inter defeated stubborn opponents Cesena yesterday evening to move up to fourth place in the Serie A standings.
The Italian, European and World Champions had to work hard to defeat the stubborn Cesena side who are fighting for survival.
Inter had a 2-0 goal lead, but Cesena levelled matters to push Leonardo’s men to the limit.
Inter’s Samuel Eto’o made it 1-0 on the 14th minute after a assist by Diego Milito. Eto’o made no mistake by shooting from the right side of the box.

Six minutes later Cesena looked to be on their way to produce on of the biggest shocks of the season as they levelled matters. Emanuele Giaccherini made no mistake from the centre of the box after being served by ex-Inter player Luis Jimenez.
As Censena’s Emanuele Giaccherini was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. This did not stop Cesena from creating numerous goal opportunities.
As Inter were looking to end the match in a draw, Cristian Chivu’s header in added time saved the match for Leonardo’s men.
The match ended 3-2. With this victory Inter are now only six points behind Milan with a game in hand that has to still be played against Fiorentina.
Next Sunday Inter have a tricky clash away against an inform Udinese side.
