Floriana win seven goal thriller

With this victory Floriana are now ten points behind leaders Valletta.

Floriana went surprisingly ahead just 18 seconds after the match started.

Qormi’s Jason Vandelannoite lost possession of the ball to Floriana’s Daniel Nwoke who then made a solo effort to beat goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri.

Qormi leveled the score on the 23^rd  minute. A shot from outside the by Cleavon Frendo beat goalkeeper Lotfi Saidi.

Just two minutes later Joseph Chetcuti passed to Cleavon Frendo who then served Josue Santos Silva who headed the ball in. The score was not 2-1 in Qormi’s favour.

Near the end of the first half on the 41^st  minute, Floriana levelled the score again. Dragomir Draganov served Christian who shot from close range to make it 2-2.

Qormi were reduced to ten men two minutes later. Matthew Bartolo received his second yellow card for a foul on Manolito Micallef.

With a man less Qormi took the lead again on the 54^th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Duncan Pisani fouled Joseph Chetcuti inside the area. Josue Souza Santos made no mistake from the penalty spot to put Qormi ahead 3-2.

Floriana did not take long to level the score again as on the 63^rd  minute Tyrone Farrugia shot past goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri after receiving and assist from Pablo Doffo.

Ten-man Qormi could not keep up with Floriana on the 69^th  minute. Daniel Nwoke scored the winning goal after receiving a precise pass from Tyrone Farrugia.
