Qormi add more misery to Hibernians

Hibernians will not be happy after this defeat as they are guaranteed a place in the relegation pool.

Both sides did not take too many risks in the beginning of the match.

Qormi had an attempt on goal on the half hour mark when Josue Souza Santos’s shot was partially saved by goalkeeper Mario Muscat. Santos went for the rebound, but his second attempt on goal was cleared by a Hibernians defender.

Qormi took the lead on the  39^th  minute.

Ryan Camilleri brought down Qormi’s Abubakar Bello-Osagie in the area to award Qormi a penalty. The Brazilian Josue Souza Santos made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Qormi could have doubled the score when George Mallia missed a great chance after heading the ball wide from close range.

Hibernians tried to fight back to get the equaliser in the second half, but they were denied by the stubborn Qormi defence.
