Inter defeat Fiorentina as Genoa win derby
Giampaolo Pazzini scored the winner for Inter as they defeated Fiorentina 2-1 to keep the pressure on Milan.
Inter are now just five points behind leaders Milan and two behind second-placed napoli after yesterday’s victory.
Inter took the lead thanks to a own goal from Michele Camporese just six minutes after the start.
A cross from Eto’o was deflected by Camporese into his own net.
Manuel Pasqual scored the equaliser on the 33rd minute.
Pasquel’s cross was aimed at Gilardino, but the ball went past two Inter defenders and straight into the net.
Pazzini came to the rescue for Inter by scoring the winning goal on the 61st minute.
Eto’o cross found Pazzini right in front of the Fiorentina goal. Pazzini rushed in and scored the winning goal.
In the other match Genoa defeated Sampdoria 1-0.
The match had to be played yesterday evening as it was postponed last December due to bad weather.
Sampdoria were hoping to continue their positive run after they defeated Bologna 3-1 last Sunday.
But it was Genoa who scored the only goal of the match thanks to Rafinha.
Rafinha’s powerful shot just outside the area left no chance for Sampdoria’s goalkeeper Gianluca Curci.
With this victory, Genoa move up to 11th place as Sampdoria remain in 13th place in the Serie A standings.
