Marsaxlokk put four past Floriana thanks to Alfred Effiong

This was the fourth defeat in a row for Floriana.

Floriana pressed in the beginning stages of the match, but Marsaxlokk took advantage of the space left open on their conter-attacks.

Marsaxlokk took the lead on the 14^th minute when Ryan Fenech served Alfred Effiong who made no mistake beating Floriana goalkeeper Lofti Saidi.

Manolito Micallef had his close range shot saved by Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Reuben Gauci on the 44^th minute.

The first half ended 1-0.

In the second half, it did not take long for Marsaxlokk to double their lead.

On the 53^rd  minute, Martin Deanov set-up Alfred Effiong who advanced into the area to shot the ball past the goalkeeper.

On the 80^th minute, Ryan Darmanin’s shot was partially saved by Floriana goalkeeper Lofti Saidi. Alfred Effiong was there to pick up the rebound and slot the ball in to make it 3-0.

Alfred Effiong scored his fourth of the day on the 86^th minute after he received a great assist from Gareth Sciberras.
