Sliema brush aside Qormi

Sliema Wanderers are on track to secure their place in the BOV Premier League next season as they defeated Qormi 4-0 yesterday evening.

This was the third consecutive win for Sliema.

Both teams were cautious in the early stages of the match, but Sliema eventually took the lead on the 23rd  minute.

Steve Bezzina’s precise pass to Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza enabled him to beat the Qormi goalkeeper with is shot, to give Sliema to first goal of the match.

Eight minutes later, Sliema doubled the score when Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza beat the Qormi goalkeeper again with his shot on goal.

On the 62nd  minute, Qormi went close to scoring when a shot by Abubakar Bello-Osagie was tipped into a corner by the Sliema goalkeeper.

Sliema made it 3-0 on the 75th  minute. Mark Scerri tapped the ball in after Etienne Barbara set up the play.

The match was put out of reach for Qormi on the 85th  minute.

Obinna Obiefule flicked the ball over goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri to make it 4-0.
