Floriana thrash Tarxien

Floriana move to second place, level with Birkirkara who have a game in hand.

Tarxien has now lost three out of their last four matches.

Tarxien’s Everton Antonio Pereira had the first attempt at goal on the 8^th  minute when his shot went just over the bar.

Floriana replied by taking the lead on the 16^thminute. Off a freekick from Christian Cassar, Tyrone Farrugia headed the ball in past goalkeeper David Cassar.

Tarxien went close to equalising when Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues hit the crossbar with his header.

Floriana doubled the score on the 20^thminute. Tyrone Farrugia beat David Cassar with his shot from close range after concluding from Christian Cassar’s freekick.

Floriana did not sit back and relax as after just one minute Tyrone Farrugia scored his third of the day when he beat the goalkeeper with his shot. Floriana was now leading 3-0.

On the 32^ndminute, Floriana scored their fourth goal of the match. Off a cross from Christian Cassar, Dragomir Draganov made no mistake to find the target.

Four minutes into the second half. Tarxien were awarded a penalty shot. Brian Said brought down Cristiano inside the area. Sergio Pacheco De Oliveira converted the penalty to make it 4-1.

Floriana restored their four goal advantage on the 56^thminute. Pablo Doffo’s fantastic shot from a long distance left no chance for Tarxien’s goalkeeper David Cassar to make it 5-1.
