Ten-man Valletta defeat Birkirkara
Valletta defeated Birkirkara 1-0 to move seven points clear in the BOV Premier League standings.

This was a great achievement for Valletta, who played most of the match with 10 men.
Birkirkara started the match attacking, with Trevor Cilia having two attempts denied by Valletta goalkeeper Andrew Hogg.
Both teams had appeals for penalties waved away by referee Adrian Azzopardi by the half-hour mark.
Valletta managed to score the opening goal on the 37th minute. Off a cross from Terence Scerri, Andrade Antunes dribbled past a defender and made no mistake by beating Michael Fraser to give Valletta the lead.
Valletta were reduced to ten men two minutes later after Jamie Pace was sent off for trying to hit Trevor Cilia.
In the second half Birkirkara could not take advantage of Valletta being one man down.
Andrew Hogg produced some great saves to secure the three points for Valletta and secure their place at the top of the standings.
