BOV Premier League | Hibernians 1 – Qormi 3
Valletta are once more the sole leaders of the BOV Premier League as Hibernians suffered a shocking 3-1 defeat at the hands of Qormi.
Qormi broke the deadlock on the 15th minute. Antonio Rozzi’s delivery from a corner was met by Yannick Yankam who headed the ball home.
Hibernians equalised just three minutes later. Following a corner, Andrei Agius sent a header which David Cassar saved. However, the referee judged this save to have taken place behind the goal line and signalled a goal.
Qormi regained their lead during the additional time prior to half-time. Yankam served Rozzi and the latter drilled a low shot past Marko Jovicic.
Mario Muscat’s side suffered a setback on the 77th minute as Tensior Gusman was sent off after being shown his second yellow card of the match.
Despite the red card, Qormi remained disciplined and sealed the issue on the 90th minute. Following a fast counter, Malela Bangoura placed the ball inside the net.
