Neptunes win First Division Knockout title

Ta’ Xbiex won the 2^nd Division Knockout Championship defeating favourites Marsascala in a close affair which ended 10-9

The first session was a close affair with Marsascala shading it 3-2. But the second session went all Ta’ Xbiex’s way where they managed to win 5-2 with Gyrovath, Cordina, Attard and Szeles scoring.

The third session continued in a see saw fashion with Marsascala winning 3-1 to set up a knife edge final session balanced at 8-8. The final session saw Ta’ Xbiex score two crucial gaols to make it 10-9 and hand themselves the 2^nd Division Knockout championship.

As expected, Neptunes came out strongly and easily won the first session 3-0 with Camilleri and Molnar scoring the goals. But in the second session, Exiles managed to stage a mini revival and shared the play with their oppoenets ending the session 3-3 with Sullivan, Cuk and Cousin scoring for the Sliema team.

The third session was a hugely balanced affair with Exiles goalie Alan Borg Cole performing a number of superb saves until he was beaten at the final end of the stick by Gojkovic for Neptunes to take a four goal lead into the final session.

The final session ended 2-2 with Neptunes easily administering their advantage to end up First Division Knockout winners.
