A man has pleaded guilty to stealing a number of laptops and accessories from the Refugee Commission this morning.
The burglary, which took place during the night between the 15 and 16 July, is thought to have been disrupted after two RIU policemen were dispatched to the offices to investigate a neighbour’s report of suspicious noises coming from the office.
Terrence Vella, 33, from Msida had subsequently been arrested.
Before magistrate Doreen Clarke this morning, Vella pleaded guilty to charges of theft and relapsing.
The court ordered the accused be remanded in custody pending the compilation of a pre-sentencing report.
Police Inspectors James Grech and Jean Farrugia prosecuted, while lawyer Simon Micallef Stafrace was legal aid.
