Youth suffered grievous injuries in a four-storey fall
Civil Protection rescuers in 90-minute operation to recover the 19-year old Slovakian national
Civil Protection personnel were called to assist a 19-year-old Slovakian national who fell from a height of about four storeys down a shaft at a construction site in Hotel San Raffaello in Triq Luigi Apap, Saint Julians.
The police were informed of the accident at about 5.45 am by neighbours who heard groans coming from the site. Due to the site's, it took rescuers about 90 minutes to pull the youth up to the street level, where a medical team was waiting.
The youngster was still conscious and was conveyed by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital.
