Hibernians continue positive start

Hibernians continued their positive start to the new season by defeating Qormi 4-2.

Hibernians were the better side at the start of the match as they started putting pressure on Qormi with numerous attempts on goal.

Andrew Cohen and Steve Pisani came very close to scoring for Hibernians.

Hibernians took the lead on the 17th minute. A freekick by Jackson Lima was intercepted by Rodolfo Soares who then beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia from close range.

Hibernians made it 2-0 on the 34th minute when Andrew Cohen was on target.

On the 38th minute, Hibernians were three goals in front when a perfect shot by Marcelo Dias left no chance for goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Qormi managed to get on the scoreboard on the 59th minute when Gaetan Spiteri's shot was deflected past goalkeeper Mario Muscat by a defender.

Hibernians did not sit back as they made it 4-1 on the 69th minute. Jackson Lima Siqueira's rising shot from outside the area beat the Qormi goalkeeper.

On the 86th minute, Qormi reduced the gap when they scored their second goal of the match. Off a cross by Joseph Chetcuti, Bello-Osagie's header was deflected by Mario Muscat to have Gaetan Spiteri score from the rebound.

Marcelo Dias was voted the BOV Player of the Match.
