Birkirkara returned to winning ways after they defeated Qormi 2-1.

Five minutes in to the match Qormi came close to scoring when Edison Bilbao Zarate had his shot from outside the area go just wide.

Birkirkara immediately replied when Yosimar Hernandez had his low shot deflected by a Qormi defender.

Birkirkara managed to take the lead on the 26th minute. A shot by Paul Fenech was deflected by goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia, off the rebound Joselito dos Reis managed to score after two attempts.

Birkirkara managed to make it 2-0 on the 38th minute. Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza served Jhonnattann Benites who then went on to beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia with his low shot.

Qormi tried desperately to get back into the match. Birkirkara's new goalkeeper Justin Haber put in a great performance with some fantastic saves to deny Qormi.

On the 80th minute, qormi managed to reduce the gap when Alfred Effiong advanced inside the area to beat goalkeeper Justin Haber with his powerful shot.

Birkirkara managed to protect their one goal lead till the end of the match to secure all three points.

Paul Fenech was voted BOV Player of the Match.
